Frequently Asked Questions

What is the schedule for participation in the Delphi?

See the 'Structure & Schedule' on the homepage.

What are the expectations of participation?

No travel or in-person conferencing is planned for this Delphi. Instead, participants should expect to do the following.

1. Answer the survey questions and an occasion email

2. Thoughtfully participate in several rounds of survey and open-ended questions

3. Provide feedback on the synthesis document produced after each round

4. Participate in the final roundtable dialogue held virtually (e.g., via Zoom)

What time commitment can participants expect to contribute?

The amount of time spent will depend in part on how much one chooses to contribute. We estimate that participation in each round will average ~2+ hour. Reading and responding to the synthesis documents after each round will also take ~2+ hours. The final roundtable dialogue will entail meeting virtually for about 6+ hours on a given day (inclusive of 2-3 breaks).

With four planned rounds and the final roundtable dialogue, we estimate participants should plan for ~22+ hours of participation over the course of a year.

How will the responses in the rounds be analyzed?

Both quantitative (e.g., Likert scale surveys) and qualitative (e.g., thematic analysis) will be asynchronously collected in question and answer 'rounds.' For example the quantitative survey data will be subject to various kinds of statistical analysis, whereas qualitative data may be interpreted using concept maps and data extracts,

What technology tools will be used?

This Qualtrics web portal at Deakin University will be the primary means of access to the Delphi rounds. Email will be the primary means of direct communication about the Delphi between organizers and the participant. For emergent coding, concept development, and data extracts we will use a concept mapping tool (e.g.,  iThoughts). Other tools will be used by the organizers of the Delphi as necessary.
